Why I Chose to Review Canada Hair

How I found CanadaHair.ca website

First of all let me tell you how I found Canada Hair.

I was searching for a Canadian retailer of hair extensions that could supply my hair salon business with quality hair. I'm in Alberta in a city called Red Deer where there are literally nowhere to buy hair extensions that are decent. That’s how my search began, and I came across Canada Hair’s website CandaHair.ca.

I needed a hair extension company that could supply me with tape in extensions and fusion extensions (and occasionally microbeads extensions). That supplier needs to have different colors and lengths, no minimum order requirements, and to ship fast. As you can imagine, it's not easy to find one especially when you are in Canada. Naturally, Canada Hair seemed like a great fit because they met all my requirements.

The first thing I did was take some time to thoroughly go through their website. Well, at first glance, the company seemed to have a great website. It was nicely built, with a clean and user-friendly interface.

The different products were neatly categorized so you I could easily find what I was looking for. I was happy to see that they had an extensive product range. The products were displayed using good quality images and there were detailed product descriptions available with each. So, anyone looking to buy any product can get a good idea of what they are buying and can make a decision with confidence. Overall their website is great and easy to use.

Canada Hair online reviews

Before purchasing hair extensions I always read online reviews. This is something you should always do regardless of what you buy.

There were some Canada Hair reviews available on their website that were posted by other customers. All of them were positive in general, so everything seemed good till now. Of course, I was prepared that the reviews might not be completely honest which is why I decided to take those with a grain of salt. I'm not saying that Canad Hair is faking their positive online reviews, but I've seen some websites do so. Don't forget that the company has full control of what reviews get posted on their website. So I'm not taking any chances believing reviews posted on the company's website and I prefer to read reviews elsewhere where the reviews are more genuine and sincere.

Most Canada Hair reviews around the web are consistent with what I read on their website. Basically here's a breakdown of CanadaHair.ca reviews:

Positive Canada Hair reviews according to other customers:
  • Quick shipping
  • Friendly & accommodating customer service
  • Hair extensions quality is very good
  • The price is really low
  • They pay your return fees and refund in full if you want to return your order.
And here are a few negative Canada Hair reviews posted by other customers:
  • Not lot of choices in wigs
  • Prices change frequently
  • Don't ship to US customers
  • No stores or phone number
Keep in mind that these are only reviews I read and not my personal opinion! I haven't purchased the extensions yet when I read those reviews.

Here is a CanadaHair.ca review video that was well done and covered pretty much everything.

I decided it was time to buy Canada Hair extensions for myself and then form an opinion.

Canada Hair Quality review

I purchased a set of clip in extensions and a few sets of tape in extensions. I got the clip ins in the color brown and the tape ins were blonde.

This is what I received. I receive my order 4 days after placing it, so shipping was really quick.

reviewing canada hair extensions

The hair extensions were indeed made using 100% real human hair.

In terms of texture, it was unbelievably soft and shiny. It was of a good quality in general.

I think it's important for you to know that CanadaHair.ca offers 2 hair qualities on their website. One quality is called human hair, and the other is called premium remy hair.

Basically human hair is the affordable hair extensions quality. And the premium remy hair is their best hair quality, but obviously pricier.

So if you are looking for the cheapest hair extensions, choose human hair. And if you're looking for the best quality hair extensions, go with premium remy hair.

I got myself both qualities to compare them. The brand of the human hair extensions was called TaraHair.com and the brand of the premium remy hair extensions was called QualityHair.com

my review of canadahair.ca clip in extensions

Both hair qualities were amazing to be honest.

As for the TaraHair.com hair extensions (the human hair quality), I feel that they are not the best hair extensions I had. When you compare them with other hair extensions brands, they weren't that good. However, they were really affordable and therefore a good deal overall. For the price you're paying on Canada Hair, which are very low prices (way lower than your average hair extension store), I feel it's still worth it and an excellent deal.

The QualityHair.com hair extensions (the premium remy hair) were simply the best hair extensions I tested in the recent years. I say that with no exaggeration, the extensions were incredibly natural looking and blended with my hair very well. Keep in mind that they are a lot more expensive than the human hair extensions, but if you can afford it, then definitely go for it!

In terms of hair quality, I had a positive experience with both qualities/brands offered by Canada Hair.

Here are some key points:
  • The hair extensions I received from Canada Hair passed all the tests I put them through, and that too with flying colors. Regardless of which hair qualities I tested, the results were more than satisfactory. CanadaHair.ca offers good quality hair extensions.
  • I used a hair straightener on them at maximum heat and there was no weird smell or melting. Instead, the extensions were straightened perfectly, just like normal hair. Some hair extensions retailers mix their hair extensions with synthetic hair, animal hair, or poor quality human hair. In short, the extensions would melt when you'd apply heat on them. But I had no issues at all straightening Canada Hair extensions, so I'd say the hair extensions are indeed 100% real hair. Both the human hair extensions (TaraHair.com) and premium remy hair extensions (QualityHair.com) were easy to straightened and style.
  • The clips on the hair extensions were also solid and didn’t slip once they had been installed. In fact, even after they had been in use for a considerable amount of time, the clips remained as good as new.
  • As for the tape in extensions that I also purchased, they were good quality too. The tapes didn't slip or move after the first wash.
  • The tape ins weren't sticky after installation. I washed my hair a few times and the tapes held in firmly.
  • The color of their hair extensions is amazingly well done. Usually buying blonde extensions is problematic with many hair extensions retailers, but not with CanadaHair.ca. Their blonde shade was amazing and I was really impressed. Same thing for the brown clip in extensions. The dyeing job on these extensions is great and very well done. Colour does not bleed.
  • I've been wearing Canada Hair extensions for now a couple of weeks (tape ins) and there was no issues with matting, shedding, or any other annoying issues.
  • My 18 year old daughter has been wearing the clip ins I got for her, and she's really satisfied. The clips aren't bulky and uncomfortable like other hair extensions brands.
  • I've washed the extensions a few time too, and the hair stayed straight and shiny. It didn't become frizzy or dry but I noticed it's a bit wavy when I let it air dry.
  • Overall the quality of their hair extensions for both the clip ins and tape ins was good and I was very happy with my purchase.
  • As for their premium brand of extensions called QualityHair.com, the results were even better. The extensions just felt more real and softer. It was even softer and it seems that it blended with my hair even more naturally.
  • So basically Canada Hair offers 2 qualities: human hair (the brand is called TaraHair.com) and indian remy hair (the brand is called QualityHair.com). If you can afford it, I'd definitely suggest you to go with their indian remy hair because it's a lot more worth it. It's pricier, but the hair extensions are infinitely better.

Canada Hair Prices

The prices were mentioned clearly next to each product, which is always a good sign. And one thing that I noticed was that the prices were really reasonable and all listed in Canadian dollars.

I had been paying a lot more for the hair extensions I had purchased from Bellami Hair or Luxy Hair, both of whom are major retailers in the world of hair extensions.

Maybe because Canada Hair is a wholesale supplier so they get better prices when they buy hair extensions? I say this because they supply hair extensions to salons and hairdressers too. My sister thinks differently. She thinks it's because Canada Hair isn't really popular. Actually it doesn't look like a big company at all when you compare them with Bellami Hair or Luxy Hair. So basically they can't sell their extensions at a more expensive price because they don't have that "brand" popularity that would justify a price increase. Who cares right? As long as you're getting good value from a company, that's all that matters. And this makes sense, since I now truly believe that I've been overpaying for hair extensions before finding Canada Hair.

On top of the good prices, Canada Hair also has regular promotions and discounts which means that you can get the hair extensions at even better prices than those quoted on the website.

Many of the online reviews pointed out that Canada Hair seems to be changing their prices almost every week. I noticed this as well!

For example, you'd see their clip in extensions listed at $79 and then a few days later it would drop to $74, but then a couple of days later it would go back up to $79. I never saw their prices at the "regular" one. It's like always on sale.

Really weird. Basically never buy from Canada Hair if they don't have a sale. It seems this company runs one sale after the other nonstop.

I browsed their Facebook and Instagram page and you'd notice that they'd run lot of sales.

Nonetheless, I guess you're still getting a good deal whether you're buying your extensions on sale or not.

Personally, I'd say wait until they run a sale because if you can save a few dollars, then it's even a better deal. It isn't hard to figure out when they'll run a sale. Just take a look at your calendar and if you see that Black Friday is coming soon, I guarantee you Canada Hair will run a sale. Same thing with Christmas sale, boxing day, etc.

The good about Canada Hair

As explained above, Canada Hair has good quality hair extensions regardless of which hair quality you picked. I haven't tried their synthetic hair, but I tried their human hair extensions (the brand of extensions is called TaraHair.com) and their premium remy hair extensions (the brand is called QualityHair.com). The premium remy hair are more expensive, but better quality. The human hair one are really affordable. Both were good qualities and I'm happy with my purchase.

Now let's go through the other good part about CanadaHair.ca... and then we'll discuss the bad & ugly of Canada Hair!

Canadian Company

Let me confirm to you that they are a legit company located in Canada.

When it comes to online shopping and web stores, one big concern that people generally have is that whether the company is legit or not. There are many scams or fake companies out there.

Yes, Canada Hair is really a Canadian company! Their tax numbers can be found in the footer of the order confirmation email. I was able to verify with the Canadian business registry and they have done all the proper registrations etc. They are registered in Canada. In fact, for tax purposes, they are registered in all of the provinces of Canada. They have been in business for many years now and they own a few patents and copyrights on their products. All of these are related to hair extensions and hair wigs. They also own several brands but I didn't recognize any of those brands. So, I suppose, they aren’t any famous brands!

The company has a strong online presence on all the social media platforms. They have accounts and pages everywhere, and they actively respond to any queries, reviews, or feedback etc. provided on these platforms. This was definitely a great sign. They also have a responsive customer service. Their instant chat feature on the website is highly convenient in the sense that you can get answers to any query in a matter of minutes. They are also responsive to emails, but of course, this isn’t as fast as instant chat.

As far as their website is concerned, I found it to be really great. It was well-built. Navigating through the website was really simple and straightforward, and the fact that they assured that all the information provided by customers will be protected was also a very positive sign. Apart from this, the website seemed to have all of the necessary information. From product information or pictures, to contact details or information about the company; everything was clearly mentioned on the website. This way, new customers can easily familiarize themselves with the company before making any purchases. I feel that transparency like this really helps build trust between customers and the company.

It was a secure website with all the right credentials and certificates etc. Plus, the contact information was displayed in clear view. They have a pop-up chat window too for instant customer service. There are plenty of products to choose from, and the products are available in all of the regular shades as well as some rare ones too. And the part that seemed the most appealing to me was that it was a Canadian company so there would be short delays for shipping and of course, no duty taxes.

All of these factors combined with the fact that Canada Hair was a company based in Canada, I was very eager to try their hair extensions out. And that is precisely what I did, and I found several good things about the company. Of course, there were some things that could have been better too, but all in all, I had a good experience with Canada Hair and I would surely be trying out more of their products in the future. Do read on, to learn more about my experience with the hair extensions and other products that I bought from Canada Hair.

Lot of choices when it come to hair extensions

The product range offered by Canada Hair is also quite good, especially when it comes to hair extensions. They offer many different types of hair extensions. Apart from this, they also have hair pieces and wigs. But the main attraction is surely the hair extensions. They have everything you could possibly wish for in hair extensions.

Be it clip in extensions, tape in extensions, microbeads extensions, fusion extensions, or sew in extensions, they have it all. On top of this, they also sell ponytail hair extensions and hair toppers. I found almost all of the regular shades such as black, brown, blonde, red, ombre etc. There were also some of the less common shades. They also offer multiple options in terms of length, weight, and thickness of the hair extensions. Finally, you can also choose between real hair or synthetic hair according to your preference.

Quick shipping without any duty fees

Another thing which I really appreciated about CanadaHair.ca is that all the orders are shipped from within Canada. This means no duty taxes and also that the products are delivered very promptly. No more long waits for international shipping. I received my order within a few days only. I had purchased 1 set of clip in hair extensions. Apart from this, I also purchased 2 tape in hair extensions. Besides hair extensions, I also bought a hair straightener show charm.

Returning hair extensions

Finally, the company has one of the best return policy I have ever found for any online store. However, please checkout their return policy conditions, like many other retailers they do not take back used hair extensions. It's an industry standard, since hair extensions are a hyenic product.

Now, when you return a product, not only does the company refund what you have already paid for the product but also refund your shipping fees and make sure you don’t have to pay for the parcel’s return journey either by sending you the prepaid return slip. So that’s really nice of them. I, fortunately, didn’t have to return my extensions.  Thankfully the color of the extensions matched my natural hair perfectly well and I was satisfied in every other regard too, but I did read some online reviews where some customers were saying that CanadaHair.ca did indeed pay the return fees.

The Bad & The Ugly About Canada Hair

When I started writing product or company reviews, the sole purpose was to help the people looking for such products find valuable information that would allow them to weigh the pros and cons of any company carefully before making a purchase.

This is why for any review to be a good review, it is important to not only mention all the positive parts but also the negative parts or the things that can be improved. I understand that no company is perfect, and for sure CanadaHair.ca wasn’t perfect either.

Keep in mind that this is an unbiased review. I bought hair extensions from Canada Hair with my own money. As it's the case with all genuine company online review, there are always a few bad things to point out.

No phone support!!!

The first thing that I noticed on CanadaHair’s website was that they don’t offer a phone number for customer service. Although we keep saying that in this digital age most purchases are done online, but sometimes you still do need some sort of a human contact, especially if a customer has an urgent inquiry or request. Especially if the person hasn’t got the time or the means to write and send an email at that particular moment. In such cases, a phone call is always a good option, but unfortunately, CanadaHair.ca does not offer customer service by phone.

This does not mean that they don’t have any mode of communication for customer service. The company does offer an option for an instant chat on their website and they also address all queries and concerns that customers email to them about. But having a phone number, in my opinion, would make the whole system a lot smoother and efficient.

Moreover, I feel that having a phone number that customers can use to talk to a human can inspire trust in the company’s legitimacy. These days there are a lot of scams and illegitimate companies present online, that take your money but don’t deliver. In such cases, the customer can be assured if they are able to talk to a real person on the phone because, on chat or email, the could simply be talking to a machine or receiving automated replies.

But the fact that Canada Hair hasn’t got a phone number could even scare off some customers thinking that they aren’t a real company or that they will just scam them. And that would be truly unfortunate, because from what I have experienced, Canada Hair really isn’t a scam and that they are a legit company. So, I wouldn’t want them to lose customers due to an issue that can easily be fixed. In fact, I even asked them about this. But they told me that installing and maintaining a telephone line is just too expensive and inefficient. I respect their opinion, but I still believe that even if the installation or maintenance of the phone line is expensive, but this investment could yield good returns in terms of customer loyalty and trust. And as far as efficiency is concerned, I still think that picking up the phone and having your query answered is a lot faster than waiting for a reply on an email.

To be fair, CanadaHair.ca isn’t the only hair company that shares this aversion to telephone lines. Even Luxy Hair doesn’t offer customer service via telephones. It is very strange why more and more hair companies are choosing to keep communication restricted to digital means only. I personally find it to be a big turn off.

No physical store

Another drawback of CanadaHair.ca is that they only exist on the internet. As in, they don't have any physical store. Nothing at all. The only place they exist is on the website. They do have a warehouse in Montreal I suppose because that is where the products were shipped out from, but there is no store or outlet that a customer can visit. In fact, there aren’t even any salons that keep Canada Hair’s hair products. Bellami Hair, for instance, has a hair salon in Los Angeles that keeps all of their products. But CanadaHair.ca doesn't own even a single hair salon.

According to my research though, Canada Hair’s parent company does co-own some hair salons. So, it is highly surprising that Canada Hair’s products aren’t displayed in those salons either or that CanadaHair.ca doesn’t refer its customers to any of these salons. This can become a problem if someone doesn’t want to make purchases online and would prefer to see the products on display in physical form before they make a purchase. The fact that they don’t have any products on display at salons or shops is especially strange because the company is primarily a wholesale supplier and they regularly supply hair products to hairdressers, salons, and hair shops at discounted rates. So, it would have made sense if they had some of those products on display too for new customers.

Sells almost only hair extensions... and practically nothing else!

Yet another drawback with Canada Hair was that they have an extremely limited product range when it comes to hair care products and wigs. I know I said they have an extensive product range but as I soon found out was that a large majority of their products is just hair extensions. But when it comes to other categories like wigs and hair care products, then they don’t have much to offer. Why call yourself Canada Hair if you are going to mainly just offer hair extensions and nothing else?

I wanted to purchase a blue or deep green human hair wig, but Canada Hair didn’t have any. There were synthetic hair wigs but none using real human hair. This is highly strange because Google listed them on the first page of the search results when I searched for the keywords‘human hair wigs in Canada’, even though the company literally has no blue human hair wigs on offer.

Limited shipping options

Lastly, one more thing I noticed was that CanadaHair.ca only supplies products within the country. They don’t ship outside of Canada. I feel that by doing so, they are losing out on a huge market that they can surely benefit from. Hopefully, they will reconsider this in the future and look towards expanding their business internationally too.

The Final Verdict

These are just about all the negative things I had to say about Canada Hair. Apart from these things, my experience with the company was generally good. They do offer great service and have great products, and the parts in which they are lacking, I am sure, can be fixed easily. And I really hope that CanadaHair.ca takes the appropriate steps to fix them because they might be ending up losing tons of customers because of these little things.

All in all, I was happy that I had found out about Canada Hair, as they seem to have most of the products I could want, especially when it comes to hair extensions. And add to that the fact that the prices are very reasonable without compromising on the quality of the products, makes Canada Hair a clear winner in my opinion.

About Me

I am a hairdresser in Red Deer. It's a small city in Alberta. My mother too is a hairdresser, and so I have been exposed to the world of hair styling, hair products and everything related to hair since a very young age. While other girls would play braid their dolls’ hair, I got to witness it all live. Needless to say, I was quite enthralled by it all. As a result, for me talking about hair products and different hair companies is almost like a passion.

Soon enough, I too started working professionally as a hairdresser. Although I have tried my hand at lots of hair products over the years, one particular kind that really fascinates me is hair extensions. I have been using them for over 20 years now, and so I am well versed in all things related to hair extensions. I am familiar with all the different types of hair extensions available as well as the different hair extensions companies that offer the best or the worst hair extensions. I have not only used the hair extensions in a professional capacity as a hairdresser but have also used them personally since I have fine hair.

Therefore, I think it is safe to say that I have tried just about every brand of hair extensions available in the market. And for each brand, I have tried several different types of hair extensions. These ranged from the clip in hair extensions to tape in wefts, micro bead hair extensions etc. Moreover, I have also tried the different hair extensions in terms of hair type used. Some extensions use real hair, and that is a personal favorite of mine. However, some brands also offer hair extensions made out of synthetic hair. Now, out of these two, synthetic hair is a considerably cheaper option, but I feel that given the inferior quality of the synthetic hair extensions, they won’t last you as long as real hair extensions would. As a result, you would need to get new ones more often. So, you might actually end up spending a lot more by opting for synthetic hair. Moreover, when it comes to synthetic hair, you have to protect them from heat etc. so hair styling tools like hair straighteners are out of the question. This is why I always prefer to use real hair extensions.

Now, coming back to my experience with hair extensions. Like I said, in the past decade or so, I have tried just about every hair extension brand out there. My experience has been that there are either some very good hair companies that sell very good products, or there are companies that sell very bad products. I have used both kinds. This is the primary reason that I started writing product reviews and reviews for hair companies so that other women don’t have to make the mistakes that I made when it comes to hair extensions. Because I know how bad it feels when you are expectantly waiting for your order of hair extensions to be delivered, and when it does, it turns out that the product quality is sub-standard or that you aren’t getting good enough value for your money.

Allow me to clarify one thing through first. When I say that I have tried just about every hair extension brand available, it is not a far-fetched claim. This is because the hair extension industry isn’t a very extensive industry. Instead, it is a niche market, because of which there aren’t that many brands available. Unlike the other beauty or cosmetic industry, or even the hair product industry, the market for hair extensions is quite limited. There are only a limited number of businesses and vendors offering hair extensions. However, this might be because of the relatively low demand for hair extensions in the best. But recently, I have noticed that more and more people are turning towards hair extensions for their hair troubles or just for the sake of it. So, I am hopeful that the industry will experience a boom in the future and there will be a lot more retailers and vendors on the market very soon. Healthy competition between suppliers is always a good thing as far as the consumer is concerned since the suppliers are then encouraged to provide better services and products in order to be successful and maintain a healthy clientele.

Canada Hair vs Luxy Hair and Bellami Hair Comparison

Two companies that I have tried multiple time before Canada Hair are Bellami Hair and Luxy Hair. Both of them are major retailers based in the US and have a good reputation for their hair products, especially their hair extensions.

However, I found that the prices were on the higher end of the spectrum, especially Bellami Hair whose products I feel are extremely overpriced for the quality it offers. Add to that the fact that people such as me who don’t live in the US also have to pay duty taxes and wait for so long for shipping so buying hair extensions from these two companies can be quite a costly and time-consuming affair. I even heard from some girls based in Canada who were complaining that their order took weeks to be delivered by Bellami Hair and Luxy Hair.

In my case, I did always receive my order in 2 weeks on average, but I can understand why ordering such products from overseas can be a risky thing to do.

I did buy hair extensions from Luxy Hair a few times and the products were great. The customer service offered by Luxy Hair was actually better than Canada Hair. Despite both companies not offering phone support, I felt that Luxy Hair was more responsive than Canada Hair.

But BellamiHair seems to be selling better hair quality than Luxy Hair, and Bellami Hair also has more choices such as tape in wefts for hair extensions. But, one thing that was better for Luxy Hair was their customer support (and this despite Bellami Hair offering phone support and Luxy Hair not offering it!!!).

Twice it has happened that Bellami Hair took 2 weeks before responding to my email.  On top of that Bellami Hair has also received several bad reviews for their products and lack of support when you have an issue, so that too was a big red flag for me. I feel, out of these two hair companies, Luxy hair offers a much better value for the money spent, but even then, they are quite expensive. Having the option to choose from some more hair companies, preferably Canada based, would be really great.

This problem of not having that many hair extensions retail isn’t one that is just limited to Canada though. This is a global phenomenon. Currently, only the United States seems to have a significant number of hair extension retailers available. So, since there weren’t many Canadian ones available, I had no choice but to buy from the ones in the USA. But this wasn’t a very feasible option for me for many reasons. Buying from outside the country meant that I had to pay in US dollars. Because of the currency exchange rate, this meant the price for the product would be even higher. Secondly, since the company had to ship and deliver the product internationally, therefore it took a lot of time.

Waiting for the delivery for so long was always a hassle. Imagine when you finally receive the product after all that time only to find out that the color of the hair extensions doesn’t match your natural hair or there is any other issue, then it would mean an even longer wait if you want to get the product replaced! and paying for international shipping to send it back to BellamiHair or Luxy Hair. Finally, add to this the issue of having to pay duty taxes on anything I bought from outside Canada. All of these factors combined were the reason that I was so adamant to find a hair product supplier within Canada. And I was really happy to discover Canada Hair.

I had to exchange the color and everything was done in order to make my life super simple, I did not pay for the return fees or the exchange fees, which is very rare and very appreciated for an online store. The quality of the hair is very good, I recommendes Canada Hair to all my girlfriends and to all the girls who want to have long hair, it's really worth it.
